Sea fishing or "rockfishing" in the Black Sea. Part 1. Fishing tackle

Sea fishing from the shore not so long ago considered as a kind of exotic, every year fascinates and captivates more and more fishermen. However, there is a huge army of spinningists who have not yet tasted such a sweet taste of rockfishing and first of all for them I would like to tell you about what gear you need to take with you. What to take?

A person going on a trip to the sea for the first time in order to catch fish there, as a rule, faces the question: “What to take?”. Of course, if you want, you can load into a suitcase or the trunk of the car all your fishing equipment, gained by hard work, but is it necessary?! In the overwhelming majority of cases, it is quite possible to limit yourself to a minimum set of tackle, baits and consumables.

One of the main reasons why many anglers have not yet plunged into the magical world of sea fishing is the belief that specialized tackle is necessarily necessary. However, this is not the case at all. Of course, catching a rod designed for catching mackerel fish of the same name is more pleasant and comfortable, but you can limit yourself to what is available. Since in the Black Sea catching from the shore on spinning tackle really big fish – it is a great rarity, so you can do with sticks with an upper test up to 30 grams. Again, due to the wide species composition of sea creatures, the variety of fishing styles, as well as for the pleasure of catching and catching fish, it is desirable to have 2-3 rods. A rod with an upper test up to 5-10 grams can successfully catch a variety of types of baits small coastal fish. And even if a large humpback weighing over a kilo, and this is the most coveted trophy for many anglers, then with proper skill there is a high probability of a successful outcome. The most universal lengths are from 7.3 to 8.2 feet (220-250 cm). Fishing rods can be of different strokes, but for our tasks fast poles are better suited. Which rod to take – with a tubular or solid tip – is a matter of personal preference. By the way, the through-rings installed on modern spinning rods are not afraid of salt water, so it is not necessary to wash them with fresh water after each fishing trip.

Another problem for the fisherman who gets to the place of rest is not on a private vehicle, is the transportation of spinning rods. For example, if you fly on an airplane, then in the vast majority of cases to take the sticks with you in the cabin will not be possible and, as an option, remains the transportation of them in the luggage. To spinning sticks do not break and in one piece and safe to get to the place of rest and back, you need a rigid tube. I recommend not to save money on the tube and immediately buy a quality and reliable.

If you fly alone, then most likely for the transportation of a tube with fishing rods will have to pay an extra n-sum. However, if you are traveling as a couple or with a family, you can take one large suitcase plus a tube and you will not have to pay for its transportation. Another solution to the problem is travel-version spinning rods. They have a shorter transportation length due to their multi-part nature and fit easily into a large suitcase. Now on the fishing market there is a boom in the production of multi-part rods, and cool “sticks” can be taken for quite reasonable money. If you travel along the Russian coast of the Black Sea, then another option for delivering gear to the place of fishing is to use the services of transport companies.

When fishing from the shore or breakwaters, it is possible that periodically on the reel will fall splashes of salt water, which is known to have an aggressive effect on metal parts. But it is worth wiping the coil from them after fishing, and she will not notice that she went to the sea. If it suddenly happened that the coil bathed in sea water, then do not panic, just rinse it with fresh water, well, and if possible, make a TO.

Fishing lines

Among the variety of types of fishing lines, the greatest spread among domestic fans of sea fishing got braided lines, well, or as we used to call them, “braided”. Depending on the type of baits, their weight, as well as fishing conditions, we may need cords ranging from 0.2 to 1.0 in Japanese classification. For example, a “single” will look harmonious when night fishing for large scorpion or humpback in places with complex bottom terrain. Cord # 0.4 will allow you to get 7-10 grams of pilker to mackerel, which has just begun to come to the shore in the evening.

And fans of fishing for microjig should wind on the reel braided # 0.2-0.3 to get maximum pleasure from catching even small fish. Since the contact of fishing line with various stones, bottom sediments is inevitable, so I recommend using a four-strand braided fishing line, as well as be sure to tie fluocarbon leash (0.14-0.22 mm) length of 30 cm to one and a half meters.
