The main criterion when choosing a spinning rod is its sensitivity. This is due to the fact that with these baits we catch mainly the bottom layer, and controlling them during the conduct is very important. But to track all the changes directly through the blank “in the hand” or vice versa – on the tip of the spinning, it is up to you, as it depends on your personal preferences and the thickness of the purse. Naturally, it will be mainly jig spinning rods like Zetrix Flair or SLrods Lex II, although universal rods like Norstream Ultra New(Kosadaka Assault 244L) also cope with this quite well.

There are no special requirements to the reel or the cord used. Everything is selected based on the tasks at hand and again your capabilities. The only point is that as a cord it is better to consider four-core variants, because, as I said, fishing is near the bottom, so its damage is simply inevitable.

Before starting this part, I will clarify one very important point – this article is about shore fishing, and this largely determines the places where I use these baits.

Naturally, since we are catching perch, all the main points are mostly associated with some anomalies on the bottom. For example, I have it mostly stone ridges or extensive irrigation with shell, also on the rivers are not bad “work” single navels or the edge of coastal vegetation. Of course, the perch in them is far from being a dominant predator, it usually acts there only as a “by-catch”, but nevertheless these places have the right to life.

At the moment I mostly make these baits for myself, but I started, of course, with factory baits. In general, earlier for me spinnerbait mainly associated with something “shaggy” and big, and catch on them should be mainly bass, well, or in extreme case our pike on the bays in the thickets of grass and lily pad. But the situation was always better with tailspinners, and they could be found in our stores without any problems. Yes, not in all sizes, yes, not in all weights, but they were and not even from the same manufacturer. Now with their re-blooming on the expanses of our homeland, even I have almost stopped annoying the home with their sitting with a file and prefer factory options. Especially since the choice is really just huge, and prices are kept relatively reasonable. For example, here are my two main “perch” teil:

In many ways, the wiring of this bait is very similar to the usual jig “step”, but as they say, with some nuances. The main difference is that it is not the classic two turns/pause, but five or six turns and, accordingly, a longer phase of fall. In the first summer months quite often works and the so-called pelagic wiring, when we do the same step, but already in the water column and without touching the bottom. Sometimes, in order to make the bait “planned” as long as possible, I generally lighten it to the maximum as far as conditions in the place of fishing allow.

Of course, you should not forget about the usual “even”, especially somewhere near the grass or when the tile during it periodically chirps on the bottom. Only need to be prepared for the fact that in addition to perch “hooked” can absolutely any predator, so it is best to put a leash, so as not to lose the bait in the teeth of the pike.

Spinnerbaits

This type of bait has simply phenomenal passability, and I mainly use it if I’m going to catch in very difficult conditions. It is explained quite simply – due to the fact that the point of attachment to the cord is much higher than the body of the lure, we are not afraid of neither rocks nor barnacles, between which so like to get stuck the same tailspiners.

It is with this design feature is associated with another variant of wiring, which we can apply in addition to the various variations of the step – it is the usual dragging along the bottom. And it all looks very attractive for perch, because the rotating petal we have no contact with the bottom and continues to “play” throughout the wiring. Accordingly, the weight located at the bottom, on the contrary, creates a cloud of mud, which attracts the perch. On a similar principle is built and popular nowadays snap “Jig-rig”, only there instead of a petal is used silicone bait.

In conclusion, I will say that these “iron”, of course, are not a panacea for no-catch. Yes, and catch too not always and not everywhere, but in cases where standard baits and techniques do not work, they will definitely allow you to diversify your arsenal and may be the “key” that can bring the catch.
