In my articles concerning the fishing of stud, I have already repeatedly given examples with these or those lures from my arsenal. Some of them catch worse, some of them catch better, and some of them work only in certain places and only in certain conditions. In this article I want to talk about those baits for stud, without which in spring I simply will not go anywhere and I consider this set of the minimum that will help in most places.

It is also very convenient that its weight is equal to seven grams, and it perfectly fits into the test of the most common in our rods as a class light, and class medium. I recommend to do the wiring “on the demolition” and quite slow, literally on the verge of disruption of the game – because then it goes a little deeper, and the stud in the spring does not always like to chase after a quick prey. When catching it in the “backs” should not neglect and pauses with the recoil of the cord, during which the shine appetizingly crumbles and quite often the stud reacts to them even better than to the usual “even”.

These baits are almost cousins in game and are used by me in cleaner places, where it is possible to perform full-fledged wiring. From the name, I think, it is clear that their size is small and that they are sinking. Negative buoyancy we need that the spring current did not carry them up, and the bait went exactly in the horizon that we need. They fly thanks to their mass on the appropriate rod very well, and although it is not the main criterion in spring, but this fact will not be superfluous too. Wires used with them, can be completely different, but most often I prefer a slow uniform with a series of light jerks. Sometimes I add and pause, but it concerns more wires on the border of the main and reverse currents.

Zipbaits Rigge Flat S-Line 50S

Not the most widespread bait from the family of “ridges”, but, nevertheless, when it is necessary to offer the fish something not large and able to resist even the strongest stream, it is almost unrivaled. Adding its working horizon of about a meter to the equation, we get a great finder if we need to move a little away from the shore edge. During pauses Rigge Flat sinks rather quickly, so if there is an “underwater forest” in the place of catching, you should not get carried away with them. I like most of all to use with it rather aggressive variants of wires, during which it swims along the stream like a real malek. In addition to the stud himself not once on his tenacious tees visited and conditionally peaceful fish in the form of bream and chehoni. So if you have not yet had a “flat ridge” and you like to catch on fast streams or rolls, I definitely recommend you to try it.

TsuYoki Nakama 63S.

Quite heavy and compact vibe, which has all the set of properties we need, if you need to get to the proposed fish stop or in cases when the zherekh keeps near the bottom, and the other baits go a little higher. Most often I have it or submerged sandy islets, which are already far from the shore, or coastal dumps at the banks washed up by the current. And in the first and second case the basic is the usual uniform wiring in slow or medium pace. Jig wiring I use rarely, because due to the speed of the spring current to perform them with this bait is almost impossible, or they are too short. For obvious reasons it is better to use this bait in relatively clean places, or if you “really need to”, you can re-equip it with thinner trebles, which will be much easier to bend when hooked.

Well, and as an appetizer, perhaps, one of my favorite baits for catching stud all year round. Despite its size and weight, the Dexter can be fished even in relatively shallow areas, and it can be both a regular even wiring and quite aggressive twitching. I probably do not even know such a variant of wiring, in which he would not catch ….

It is also the only bait from the list, when fishing with which I definitely recommend using a leash. The reason, as you understand, is quite banal – pike, which appears literally out of nowhere, as soon as Dexter is in the water. Wobbler is not very stubborn, so it can be used even with spinning class light (10-12 grams) and there is no discomfort when wiring. Naturally, this lure is not a “magic wand”, but it helps me out quite often.
