What is mormyshing

Mormyshing is usually understood as fishing with ultralight jig lures with a total weight of less than 1 gram. Lures can be both classic – mormyshki, and composite. The style of spinning fishing for mormyshing has many names and varieties: nanojig, softjig and others. Mormyshing is a generalized and most common name.

Mormyshing is probably the youngest type of spinning fishing. It is believed that fishing with ultralight lures originated from sport. For the first time representatives of Ukrainian fishing sport began to catch with such lures on super thin lines and won over their rivals, as they say, with a clear advantage. Quite sufficient initial choice will be a quality monofilament fishing line with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.12mm. Many spinning anglers are initially not ready for the use of such thin threads in spinning fishing and put lines of larger diameter.
