Welche Ruten sind für das Sommerangeln besser geeignet?

Beginner anglers often ask about which rods are better for summer fishing. This is not quite a correct question, since there are several types of rods that serve for different types of float fishing. To begin with, it is worth understanding what rods come for fishing in general. In fact, there are few types of them, so it is difficult to get confused about them:

  • fly rods;
  • bologna rods;
  • match rods;
  • plug fishing rods.

Now let’s break down their purpose.

Fliegenrute

fly rods

Fly rods are designed for catching fish with a “blind” rigging, which is attached to the top of the rod through a specialized connector. When catching fish, the rod serves as the main shock absorber of fish jerks.

Fly rod is a telescopic rod, which is most often produced in lengths from 3 to 9 meters. The blank has no rings, so, as a rule, the rod is very light. Such rods are favored by fans of fishing on the side nodding in the backcastle. These rods are light and perfectly convey the adrenaline of catching fish, as the angler is limited by the stock of line and uses only his skill.

Bologna rod

bologna rods

The bologna rod was designed for fly fishing. Therefore, such rods are easily recognized by the rings on the blanks. Perhaps this is the most common type of fishing rod that can be found on the shelves of fishing stores. The essence of it is that on the rod blank there is a place for attaching a wire reel. The fishing line is passed through the rings of the rod and then equipped with a float, weight and hook. If there is a reel and a stock of fishing line, the angler can make both distant throws and catch in the wiring on rivers. This is the main point of fishing with such rods. It is worth adding that they are produced in sizes from 3 to 7 meters. The rods have a telescopic structure of assembly and disassembly.

Match rod

match rods

Match rods are most likely to have been developed by float fishing sportsmen. The method of fishing with a match rod is quite intricate and not suitable for a beginner. But when the angler becomes an advanced amateur, he can safely switch to this type of fishing. Match rod most often consists of three sections and has a similar to spinning plug line, a place to install a specialized reel, a large number of through rings for easy long distance throwing.

The main node in the scheme of the match rod is a float-wagler, which has the structure of an arrow and already has a load. Due to it, the waggler can be thrown at a distance of up to 40 meters and conduct a survey of distant boundaries. Mounting a match rod separately we will not consider, because there are many articles written about it. Also you can easily find a large number of informative videos on the Internet.

Plug rod

plug rods

A plug rod is a professional rod made of very lightweight carbon fiber compounds, the most common length of which is 13 meters. This type of rod is made exclusively for sport anglers. With the help of such a rod, you can wind your float and bait directly to the catching point.

It should be added that this is a very expensive type of fishing rod, which requires a certain inventory: rollers, fishing platform, various fasteners and combs.

At last it is worth noting that the culture of float fishing sport in Russia is not developed, the main area of distribution is Europe.

That’s all you need to know about float fishing rods. As you may have seen, there are no rods that are “better”. All rods are different in their purpose and in different conditions they complement each other. And the answer to the question “how to choose a rod for summer fishing” depends on what kind of fishing you are interested in.
