Πέρκα σε τρολ: τακτική και πρακτική

Not all anglers do winter fishing. Some are afraid of the cold, although I can not imagine how you can freeze, constantly moving and drilling holes. Some do not like to sit over the hole and “tease out” unfortunate perch or rafts, although such fishing brings a lot of pleasant emotions from the process of wrenching fish on a thin fishing line. However, there is also winter spinning – it is catching perch, zander or pike on a blinder and balancer! And here this fishing has nothing to do with a fishing rod. For her, you do not even need to have a box, because it is enough to take an ice drill, a couple of boxes in your pocket and start catching. If fishing for pikeperch I choose infrequently, and for pike in general do not hunt, then catching perch I have in the first place, and I just love this fishing, so in this article I will try to share my experiences, nuances and tactics of catching.

Selection of tackle

Start the choice of tackle should start with a quality fishing rod

The most important thing in catching bass for winter spinning is a quality fishing rod. In order to get the maximum pleasure, it is desirable to buy a rod with a carbon-fiber whip, which will clearly transmit all the nibbles in the hand. But if you do not want to buy an expensive rod, you can take a cheaper version, but, most likely, you will have to use a nodder. The length of the rod should be chosen so that it was convenient to work standing, because fishing involves a maximum of movement and search, to sit on the box will simply not have time, so short rods are not much suitable. You should not choose too soft rods, because they will not allow you to make sharp jerks balancers, but too stiff is also not necessary, because the perch does not need to sift through as much as the pikeperch.

I prefer not to thin the ψάρεμα line and use a diameter of 0.14 mm to catch perch. This allows you to calmly wade large fish, and avoid a large number of breaks, but at the same time does not hide the game of bait.

As I have already written above, when fishing with inexpensive, insensitive rods, it is worth using a nod to avoid losing some of the nibbles. But you should use a nod that will not introduce side vibrations in the game of the lure, ie after its lowering, it will not swing. Such a nod is easy to make of nipple rubber. It bends perfectly, does not interfere with the play of the bait and, at the same time, responds to small pokes perch.

Experiments with the hook can bring results

As I wrote above, the main lures for winter spinning are balancers and blades. There are some other types, but they are not very sporty and interesting, although they are quite catching. The most universal size of blades and balancers, in my opinion, is 40 millimeters. This is the case when the small perch is quite actively caught on these baits, and large do notmind to eat flickering in front of his mouth bait. Although in cases of bad bite or when it is known that in a certain place comes out only large perch, it is better to have and 30, and 50-60 mm baits.

Perch blades usually have a narrow runny body and are made with a single soldered or suspended treble hook. Each of them has a different game, and therefore you need to have a variety of options in your arsenal. It is worth noting that in the trollers with a suspended tee there are also experiments with changing the hook, which can be applied a special drop or chain. Do not forget about experiments with color, and from experience I can unequivocally say that when catching perch in periods of poor bite hitting the color can have a decisive role.

Search tactics

Spinning fishing mainly involves a fairly active movement on the reservoir. Of course, if there are a lot of perch, and his catch is good enough, then you can and on a small area to catch quite well. But such cases in my practice is very few. If not so long ago the perch in our country was considered a weed fish, and it was taken out of the reservoirs in large quantities, then as the number of fishermen who were active enough to catch large specimens, its number began to decrease every year.

Choosing fishing spots is quite simple. Perch, like any predator, is tied to a certain relief or anomalies on the bottom. It can be a local navel, a spit, a spot of coquina or a local crustacean. When the water rises with coastal flooding, it can get clogged in bushes or chinook. The last option is not very good, at least for catching on a balancer, but in these conditions quite well show themselves blades. But if we are looking for perch on the squares, then the balancer will be preferable, since it allows you to collect fish even from a fairly large distance, so you can not drill holes so often.

Practice catching

The first thing to do is to spend a little time and check the old holes

So, the first thing, coming to the reservoir, I pay attention to the presence of old holes. Often they show where the fish were caught. Of course, it is not a fact that perch were caught there, but the check takes not so much time. We lower the bait to the bottom and you can knock a couple times on the bottom to raise a cloud of muti, then start the game. Initially, for the so-called rocking of the hole you can make a few, a piece of five, tossing the bait without pause. Thus we attract active fish, which can instantly react to such a feed. And if everything worked out, it is important not to hesitate. Fish lift quickly and immediately lower the bait into the hole, usually immediately or on the first swings will get another bite, and then another and another. But it is worth reducing the pace, as the fish can quickly lose interest.

After a few swings you can make one long pause

If you can not rock the hole, then we start to make different amplitude and speed rebounds. I do not make a long pause, and in most cases it is about 3-4 seconds. With a trolling rod the pause is less, with a balancer a little longer, because the balancer after the toss still some time draws a figure eight under the hole. After a series of swings you can try to make one long, about ten seconds, pause, during which you can slightly wiggle the bait, almost like a mormyshka. This technique works well when the bait is equipped with a suspended hook with a bright drop, which begins to rock and provoke the perch to attack.

If the above manipulations did not help, then you can try to change the horizon of wiring, and on each swing raise the rod higher and higher, up to a meter. At the very top you can linger for a few tosses, and begin to lower the bait in the same way with each swing.

The most important thing is that you should not linger on the holes for a long time. When fishing with spinning we are looking for an active fish that is ready to eat a large enough bait. If at one site experiments did not bring a single bite, let it be not even a blow, but a toss, poke or touch, then it is worth trying to radically change the place. For example, if we tried to catch in the coastal thickets or in the lily pad, then find a deeper area and vice versa. In general, constant movement and experiments bring maximum results.

Catching for spinning is a lot of excitement

In this article, I tried to tell the methods and principles that guide me when catching perch on a blinder or balancer. Of course, not always this type of fishing is not always effective, and mormyshka can overtake spinning, but the fact that the spinning to catch much more excitement, makes you pull it out of the winter box again and again!

I remember the first time I tried to perch on a troll during our weekend hike! It was hilarious! I had my buddies cracking up while we figured out the best tactics to stay balanced. Totally unforgettable and such a blast! Can’t wait to try it again!

That sounds like such a fun adventure! I once tried balancing on a rock during a hike with friends, and we ended up creating our own goofy “tactics” too. It turned into a competition, and the laughter made the day memorable. Can’t wait to hear about your next troll attempt!

As someone who loves fishing, I’ve gotta say, mastering perch strategies is a game changer! Last summer, I tried a few techniques from a local pro, and my catch skyrocketed. Seriously, if you’re not using these tactics, you’re missing out on some serious fun and fish!
