My first spinnerbaits were exclusively pike lures for me. But gradually they began to divide into pike and pike and pike and perch, where the latter were simply more compact and therefore liked both toothy and striped predators.

Spinnerbaits, unlike blades, are more massive and therefore more visible to predators. For example, the model Yo-Zuri 3DB Knuckle Bait instead of a petal is equipped with a plastic ball with a 3D effect. In the water during wiring this ball, as they call it, “shakes” quite chaotically, from side to side, that quite attracts fish no worse than the petal. They can be conducted evenly at a chosen depth, you can exercise with step wiring, and you can drag short pulls with short as sharp stops – this option works best with the standard equipment bait silicone “skirt”, which at the time of a sharp stop swells like a jellyfish, then again folded and the bait moves on.

Some peculiarities in the work of spinnerbait are associated with their design. Most of these lures are equipped with an open loop for attaching the fishing line, which is associated with the American direction of catching largemouth bass, where the spinnerbait is tied to fluorocarbon, or monofilament fishing line directly. In this case, tightly tightened knot does not let the fishing line slip, but in our case, when using a metal anti-pike leash, without which the pike is unsafe to catch, at times when throwing the carabiner slips, jumping out of the nose fixing loop and thus disrupts the work of the lure.

A free area in the open nose loop of the spinnerbait head when directly attached to fluorocarbon or fishing line counteracts the slippage around the head when throwing.
