Scarabei per Golavl. Seconda parte

Continuing the theme of beetle bobbers for chub fishing. There are a few more crankbaits on my list from the likes of float bugs and water bugs.

Nories wobblers

Let’s start, perhaps, with the most famous. Surely these models are well known to every experienced golavlyatniku. We are talking about wobblers from the Japanese brand Nories. At the mention of this name on many hunters for chub and trout descends pleasant languor, bliss and memories of bright successful fishing with different gear of this brand. And wobblers-bugs they have just excellent. They are Boss Pupa Shallow 40, weighing 5.6g and its younger brother Crankin Pupa Shallow 35, weighing 2.6g.

The larger older model is quite an impressive wobbler by our standards. It is very effective when hunting for trophy specimens of chub, but often small chub do not give him a pass, especially if we catch along the grassy ambush of chub. Drive this big guy can be up to half a meter and even a little more, there are no difficulties in wiring – we lead just in an arc on the demolition. At the younger brother the depth of wiring is almost twice less, otherwise it works the same way, except that on the splash (on the spit) on it more often respond to the chub, grabbing the wobbler right at the moment of landing. Both of these beetle wobblers does not hurt to have with you in the summer heat, going to any chub river. Equipped with single beardless hooks wobblers better re-equip with trebles or doubles, because the wide body of these beetles does not contribute to good hooking with single hooks.

Strike Pro wobblers

In many respects, “bugs-floaters” from the company Strike Pro have similar properties. Their Beetle Buster model wobblers have almost the same dimensions of 40mm and a similar weight of 5.7g. The external performance is just like a beetle, with carefully drawn details. These beetles work in the same way as the Boss Pupa Shallow, but the color schemes are very different, plus equipped with initially good tees. They complement each other perfectly with wobblers from Nories on any chub fishing trip. And their light white-silver colors are just out of competition at dusk and in murky water. Massive wobblers of this model are distinguished by a long-range and very accurate throwing.

Akara wobblers

Small catching and inexpensive wobblers, similar to floating bugs, there is a line of wobblers from the company Akara. The model is called Dorr 30, weighs only 2g and very well combined with ultralight gear and light spinning test up to 7-10g. Not bad flying characteristics and depth up to 30-35cm allow you to successfully catch these bugs almost any golovlevy stands, as well as to catch by rafting, launching them under the branches of coastal vegetation. An abundance of very beautiful color solutions helps with the choice of any angler. Equipped with one reliable tee in the tail part does not give the chub a chance to go down. What is characteristic, wobblers Dorr 30 are not equipped with noise balancers, and such models are very catchable in trampled places, where chub are already avoiding different noisy rattles that swim nearby.

Smith wobblers

Probably in any spinning fishing can not do without mentioning wobblers from the Japanese company Smith. And among the beetle wobblers they have very famous models. This is a couple of wobblers, whose bodies were definitely created on the motives of the body of such a bug as a wood bug. Although it is unlikely that anyone in his right mind would think of putting such an insect on the hook, but the wobblers turned out to be very cute. This is about Camenusi and its brother Camenusi-Baku, although the second one can’t be found nowadays, as it is out of production and has become a collector’s rarity.

But Camenusi itself is still quite realistic to find on sale. With a length of 31mm and weight of 2.5g, this bug-bug is buried on the conductor only 25-30cm maximum, that is, in fact, it is a sub-surface wobbler, SSR class. At the slowest wiring, it can go literally under the surface, spreading on the sides of the active “whiskers” on the water. Perfectly catches chub in different wiring, as well as rafting under bushes and branches of coastal plants. Sometimes is able to decide the outcome of fishing, when nothing else does not help.

“Grasshoppers” and “cicadas” Tackle House.

And now let’s move on to the wobblers created on the motives of various grasshoppers and cicadas. In this company, it is immediately worth starting with models from Tackle House. This Japanese brand does not need an introduction, its lures can be considered a reference in terms of quality of performance, no clones and copies can not work as well, because they do not have that calibrated balancing and finishing. In the assortment of the venerable company a lot of interesting lures, especially in the Elfin series. For the hunt for chub in this line has three excellent bugs. The smallest of them is Elfin Mini Grasshopper. It is a two-gram grasshopper 33mm long, equipped with a large for its size blade and a single hook.

Intensive game and noise balancer inside make this little guy very noticeable and attractive. I personally consider this wobbler a real “litmus paper” to check the reservoirs for the presence of chub in them. They always react to this grasshopper. But not always the largest. But there is an alternative – big brother Elfin Grasshopper, already 40mm long and weighing 2.4g. It is the same grasshopper, but noticeably fatter and is equipped with a pair of tees, just for the bigger catfish. In general, on an unfamiliar body of water without this pair just no way.

But this is not all the surprises from Tackle House. These grasshoppers have an older sister in the Elfin series – Elfin Cicada, even more massive – 38mm/2,6g. And with this cicada you can hunt for the most hardy trophy chub. The Elfin Cicada, unlike its slender grasshopper brothers, has a wide body and quite a sprawling game. In general, having on board all this trio, without a catch will not be left without a catch, on any river, no matter what the size of chub there were.

Tiemco wobblers

Tiemco has the most original cicada wobbler – the Tiemco Cicada Wake model. I don’t know for sure if it is still in production, but this miracle is worth finding and putting it in the box of chub lures. With a length of 45mm, the wobbler weighs 4g. Depth is quite small, maximum of 15-20 centimeters. But the main thing is that this fidgety curved bug creates on the surface, if you lead it with light jerks. The wobbler really looks like a large insect floundering in the water. In general, you can catch and even wiring, and jerks, and pulls – the game will be completely different, but in all variants will attract minnows.

Another non-standard wobbler, created on the motives of a real insect – Anre’s Subream 40F. This lure is designed to depict a rucheynik moth that runs on the surface of the water. Having practiced a little, when everything will work out with wiring and the movements of the lure will become similar to the live prototype, you can go to the chub river. This wobbler, I would say, not for beginners, but rather for trained spinning, it requires skill in control and understanding of how the real live object moves, from which the bait is drawn. In general, with it you will definitely not get bored on fishing.

“Daiwa Cicadas.

And at the end a little about the compound wobbler-cicada from the company Daiwa. The model is called Presso Live Cicada and is a two-compound bug with a length of 40mm and a weight of 3.2g, equipped with a pair of tees. The depth is about 25-30cm. The game is very active due to the wagging tail part. Very responsive wobbler, any, the slightest manipulation of the rod make it move and play. Catch catches catfish on different even wiring and rafting under different coastal thickets. Very lively and catchable bait, which is interesting to control.

Very lively and catchable bait, which is interesting to manage

Of course, this is not all insect wobblers on the planet, but I only told about those that I catch chub myself and for which I can vouch. Not all of them are easy to control, but we are interested in different lures in fishing, if they all work the same way, it will be boring to catch on them. The set of wobblers that I have listed in both articles will be enough for any spinning angler to hunt for chub on different rivers of the country.

I’ve been fishing with beetle bobblers for golavl lately, and it’s been amazing! They really know how to attract the fish. Just last week, I caught a huge one using a bright green bobbler. Can’t wait to try some new colors next time out!
