Bait with your own hands

There is still a popular belief that bait with your own hands can be more effective than store bait, and it is cheaper.

From what is made homemade bait? In the course go the most different ingredients: breadcrumbs, cookies (which will be found at home), gerkules, cereals, sunflower seeds. As a flavor are drops of valerian, validol and other herbal infusions. If we are completely honest, not every fisherman keeps his diary and clearly describes in it the proportions of ingredients, improving his recipe from time to time. Most often fishermen scrape “through the sockets”. And from the products found, a certain nutritious mass is mixed, which is called “bait”.

It is not to say that it does not work. On amateur fishing, when there are few neighbors or no one at all, then the fish responds well to any treat that you offer it. But the angler does not take into account the habits and preferences of fish. Does not lay in the bait physical properties, attractive substances peculiar to certain fish, etc. Why then are such “self-made” still in use? The main reason is the price. The fisherman thinks that his own bait is cheaper. But in fact, if you count the purchase of all the necessary ingredients, it turns out that the amount of such bait is an order of magnitude higher, and its effectiveness is under great question. Personally, I went through all these experiments and started using bait from the store.

Branded baiting mixtures

I must say that not all, but many manufacturers of domestic and imported baits make working mixtures, which are absolutely sure to attract the fish that is indicated on the package. Such manufacturers include the following: Sensas, Traper, VDE, Dunaev, GreenFishing, Pelican. There are also other brands that you can try and make your own conclusions.

So what is hiding in these packages? Basically, the ingredient structure is as follows: they are breadcrumbs, biscuits, ground cereal seeds, and flavoring additives. These ingredients are added in certain proportions and mixed together. In this way, the manufacturer creates working formulations. The developer creates an actual bait for specific species of fish with proportions of this or that ingredient. And this is very important because different fish have different life cycles and nutritional preferences.

The company-manufacturer, as a rule, has a staff of experts. It also always uses consultations of sport fishermen, who have devoted their whole life to fishing and are certainly well versed in it. Such baiting compositions always work well, and these brands are always on the rumor.

Usually, baits are divided into different subcategories. For example, active and passive, coarse fraction and fine fraction, strongly and weakly flavored. But for anglers – amateurs, the most important factor is the indication of fish on the package and the method of fishing.

For example: “feeder”, “river”, “bream”, “caramel”. This name says that the mixture is made for feeder fishing on the river, so it is heavy and sticky. Also the word “bream” means that the mixture is inert and has a medium fraction. The bream also likes the smell of caramel.

You should choose two to three brands that are most imposing. Work with them for one season. Find a favorite and in the future work within the brand, studying the possibilities of the line of feeds, their combinations and the impact on the fish’s feeding. Over time, experience and deep understanding of the work of baiting mixtures will appear.
