For sure, sooner or later every spinning reelist faces the question of replacing the fishing line or braided cord on their reels. Someone, having found a suitable option for all parameters, tries to use it on a permanent basis everywhere, and someone, actually, like me, even having found his tit in his hands, still continues to look for the crane. In fact, now it is quite easy to make a choice, as any information concerning the most common cords, there is plenty of almost any fishing forum.
But about not the most common information is not so much, and in this article, dedicated to my favorite cords, I will try to fix it.
Before I begin, I think it will be appropriate to say that all of them belong not to the cheapest options. Neither will I categorize them into some kind of rating today, because there are both four-strand cords and eight-strand cords on the list, and each of them is good for certain conditions and their specific tasks.
Varivas Kobune Master PE LS4.
One of my favorite cords for fishing in heavy conditions or in the spring. I use it mainly for catching spring stud because of its extreme survivability and durability.
Thecord is four-stranded, additionally treated with special impregnation, moderately stiff, the weave is quite dense and even. It is slightly above average in terms of “sensory”, even a very accurate bite you are unlikely to miss, not to mention the “trademark” strike of a zherekh. Kobune Master also has an excellent reach, of course, not at the level of eight-stranders, but very close to them.
But the most important thing in it for me is durability. Quite often in the spring, the stud tries to use various waterlogged bushes or tree roots in the fight, and the cord is in constant contact with them. Damage he gets, but his task continues to fulfill and immediately immediately does not tear. Sometimes after successful fishing you look at the working area and don’t understand how it survived, because by all signs the fight should have ended in favor of the fish.
Varivas Super Trout Advance Max Power New
This braid also belongs to the Varivas range, but it is already woven from eight strands. Resistance to abrasion is worse than its predecessor, but it is more than compensated by its increased strength and the most magnificent outreach. It is conditioned by almost ideal in density and geometry weave and special impregnation. Its sensitivity is naturally also better, but since the main purpose of this cord is to catch salmon, the strength is still put in the forefront of all its characteristics.
As for the use, it is intended for those cases when active animation of wobblers is required or when it is possible to catch really trophy fish with the help of miniature baits.
Forsage Tournament 4 Braid Hard Type
This cord has earned me the nickname “Mr. Predictability”. It does not have any special strength or excellent outreach, even perhaps a little “plus” in diameter, but with all this tears always at the knot and at the same effort. In the process of fishing you literally know and realize that just a little bit more and the cord will tear – so it’s time to loosen the friction. This feature for me was very useful when fishing on small reservoirs such as rivers pereplyueka. Conditions on them are very tight and beforehand to weaken the friction is not particularly want to, as it will immediately end with the departure of fish in the squirming. And so – we realize that something worthy is “hooked” and as necessary we give a little bit of freedom. Otherwise, Tournament 4 Braid Hard Type is an ordinary four-strand with average characteristics.
Seaguar PE X8 Lure Edition
A classic eight-strand braid in every sense of the word. Moderately soft, the weave is homogeneous and dense throughout its length. Resistance to abrasion is also at a very high level, which can not but please, because in my preferences for catching white predators, crusts and stones are quite common terrain. I mainly use it during rafting, as it is in them that the main advantages of this cord are revealed in the form of excellent departure and very good sensitivity. The first point means not only the range of throwing, but also full control over it, because the accuracy largely depends on whether you will end up with a catch or not. On sensitivity, probably everyone understands why and what it is needed, and to be more specific, then during the catching of such fish as chub and stud very often there are periods when these comrades “capricious” and nibbles are expressed in barely discernible pokes on the bait. Accordingly, if your tackle is not informative, these contacts will remain unnoticed and you will have to divorce your hands with the firm “no bite”.
Kureha Seaguar Battle J Light PE.
From the very beginning, I think it will not be superfluous to say that the mention of jig in the name should not mislead you, since this method of fishing in the Japanese has very little in common with our jig. But there are some common points or characteristics, which prompted me to purchase this braid.
Basically it is, of course, hopes for sensitivity and good resistance to abrasive, because the word “light” in the name hints all the same at coastal fishing with a lot of stones and man-made debris.
Therefore, I use this braid mainly when fishing from the shore with such lures as rattlers, heavy blades or pilkers. Sensitivity turned out to be quite normal – at least there are no problems with the transmission of gerich bites on the outburst. Damage on the dumps from sandy spits is quite difficult to get, but even those few contacts with the toplake on the condition of the cord was not reflected in any way.
Otherwise quite reliable and high-quality cord with a very convenient unwinding of 200 meters, because in addition to the throws at 70-80 meters very often a large stud manages to pick up and a decent piece of braiding before you can turn it around.
