Kaip išsirinkti ultralengvą spiningą

When choosing fishing tackle and lures today’s assortment of many specialized stores often puts even experienced anglers in a deadlock, what to speak of beginners. To beginner spinningist understand what exactly he needs for fishing in relation to its specific conditions and based on the expected trophies, let’s try to understand what is a modern spinning fishing.

In the beginning, let’s try to divide spinning tackle into classes and start with ultralight tackle and fishing, which are commonly called ultralight, Ultra – Light (UL). The fact that the expression Ultra Light can mean tackle and fishing method. These two concepts are inseparable, as they imply fishing with small, light lures that do not exceed the test range of ultralight tackle. And let’s focus on specific spinning rods as examples.

Ultra light – what is it?

First of all, it is a small test range. It can vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but this is only because there are no clear boundaries in test ranges. And the very concept of ultra-light can be applied to different ways of fishing. For example, popular recently with our spinningists micro-jig. As a rule, such modern spinning rods are labeled MJ – microjig. Each series can have several rods with different tests, usually from 0.5 g to 7 g. Although exceptions are not uncommon. And you can meet a rod of UL class with a test up to 9 g. In general, modern fishing rods carry all the information necessary for us. In particular, belonging to a company or brand, the length of the spinning, the number of knees, belonging to the class and test range of baits in grams, the power of the rod on the cord or fishing line in libra. Let’s take the Slrods -AtriaMJ 702UL rod as an example.

SL Rods is a brand name. Atria – series of the rod. MJ – belonging to a certain method of fishing, in this case for microjigging. On the opposite side of the blank there is another inscription.

Svetainė first two letters AT are the abbreviated name of the series of the rod, that is Atria. The next letter S says that the rod is a spinning rod. This means that it is designed under the spinning reel or in other, more familiar words for anglers, under the “meat grinder”. If instead of the letter ” S ” there are English letters ” C ” or ” B “, it means that it belongs to casting or baitcasting tackle, that is the rod was made for a multiplier reel. Then 702 UL – where ” 7 ” is feet (ft – feet = 30.48 cm). ” 0 ” is inches (in – inch = 2.54 cm). Knowing these units of measurement we can easily determine the length of each rod. The next digit ” 2 ” tells us that the rod consists of two knees. If we follow clearly the inscriptions from the photo, we now know that the length 7′ 0″ – is the height of the rod in feet and inches. Further lure 0,5 – 5 g. This is the test range of this rod: the recommended weights of the baits used. Line 2 – 6 lb – the recommended test for fishing line or cord, where lb (libra) = 0,454 kg.

Possessing such information, we can easily determine the belonging of the rod to the classes. Orient on the test range and power of the rod on the fishing line. And quickly calculate the length in meters and centimeters, more convenient for us units of measurement.

In addition, modern spinning rods for microjig fishing are made with two different whips. Some of them have a hollow tip and are labeled with the letter ” T ” – tubular. In others, the tip is solid and has a designation in the form of the letter ” S ” – solid. And for better control during the conductivity of the tips of these rods manufacturers paint in white color. And here the novice spinningist has a question: “Spinning with which of these tops will be better?”.

It is impossible to answer this question unequivocally. The solid whip is somewhat softer and therefore it is easier to control the bite visually with it. But spinning with a tubular tip is a little more sensitive and slightly better transmits information “in the hand”, so here, as they say, on the amateur. In addition to microjig fishing, these rods can be used with other lures. For example, micro oscillating blades or small spinners of size #0 or #00 or even # 000 according to Meps classification. But still the main end of these rods is microjig. And the binding of these rods to a certain type of fish our fishermen, unlike foreign fishermen, do not have.

Microjig fishing

Microjig method we can catch different fish, on different reservoirs and in different, but suitable for this condition. But ultralight is not only microjigging. Many in the ultralight class and specialized rods. For example, spinning rods for trout fishing, the names of which, as a rule, have the words “Upėtakiai” or “Area“. For example, Tsuribito Mega Trout or Varivas Area Drive. The word Area translates to “area, ground” or “plot”, which speaks to the narrow specialization of the rod. If we consider the differences between trout rods and microjig spinning rods, the former will be much softer in static. When the load increases, the blank is loaded almost evenly. Such a line is commonly called Slow, that is, “slow”. And the second, more angry at the load. The upper part of the blank enters the work, and such a line is called Fast, that is, ” fast”. And this has its own explanation.

In microjig fishing as the main baits are small-sized twisters, vibro-tails or various kinds of creature, equipped, as a rule, single or offset hook on a cargo-head or a special jig-head. And as the main wiring is used a kind of step feed bait, where the whole process and wiring, and bites are tracked by the whip of the rod. Hence the choice in favor of spinning fast Fast. But when catching trout in standing water bodies, the number and diversity of baits is many times higher than when fishing with microjigs. Here in demand can be in micro-colebals, rotating blades. And also different classes of wobblers. For example, minnow, crankbaits, sheads. A few less often used lures class topwater: poppers and walkers.

Trout fishing

Recently, trout fishing in our country is developing by leaps and bounds. And here we can apply and microjig, and catch on unloaded rubber. That means that spinning rods, which allow catching trout with these baits, have already become in demand and are appearing. For example, Varivas Area Drive Tournament Specs is a rod much faster than the previous series. And, most importantly, some of the models have solid-tipped tips. Another series of ultralight rods, on the blank of which you can read the word Stream. These spinning rods designed for catching brook trout, that is, for fishing in the current. They, as a rule, are even angrier and have a decent deterrent resource, which is relevant both during the implementation of wiring of different baits on the current, and during the survival of the trophy.

And, finally, another class of ultralight rods. On their blanks you will not find any identifying inscriptions that would show the purpose of spinning to any particular way of fishing or fish. For example, SL Rods – Atria 662UL. On the blank of this rod there is no information for which method of fishing and for what specific fish this spinning rod was made, but we see that the rod belongs to the class of ultra-light (UL).

Image 7 : Modern Spinning. Part one. Ultralight.

This means that the spinning rod can quite claim to be universal. And to some extent can be suitable for jig fishing, as well as for fishing for a variety of blades and wobblers within the test.

To say unequivocally, good or bad – it is impossible. On the one hand, it is good that with this spinning can be caught in different ways and different lures. On the other hand, when it comes to spinning narrowly specialized, then with such a tool is much more convenient and comfortable to perform specific tasks.

Today’s conversation was devoted to spinning rods of the Ultra – Light class, next time we will talk about catching and tackle of the Light class.

Išvada

So, let’s give a brief summary:

Features of spinning rod ultralight:

1. test.

For the Ultralight class is characterized by a small test. The specific value can be different, since there are no clear delineations. The generally recognized range in UL is a test of approximately up to 7g.

Image 8 : Modern Spinning. Part one. Ultralight.

2. designation.

Designated spinning ultralight abbreviation UL.

3. Tip.

Fishing rods can have hollow, tubular (T) or solid (S) tips. The first type is more sensitive, better transmits the bite “in the hand”. The second type is more convenient for visual control.

4. Specialization

Among ultralight rods can be found:

  • Spinning for microdigging (MJ) – “wicked”, fast (Fast) line. Since it is more often used step animation, which is convenient to track by the whip.
  • Trout spinning (“Trout” or “Area”) – slower (Slow). Allows more variants of baits: not only silicone, but also wobblers.
  • Separately stand out rods of Stream class – for salmon fishing on the current. They have a fast line and a powerful deterrent resource.
