Nothing occupies the minds of anglers like the desire to guess whether there will be a bite today or not. In what day it is better to go fishing and what fish will be better pecking. This is influenced by many different factors, one of which is considered natural.

Weather, atmospheric pressure, time of year are conditions that universally have a very strong influence on the behavior of fish, their activity and feeding.

It is no secret that sometimes the same pike is hyperactive, grabbing any bait that meets on its way. In such situations, you do not even need to apply any exquisite wiring and various fishing tricks. It is enough just to make a throw of the bait. But in the afternoon later fish as if disappears and even the most skillful fishermen remain with zero or catch a trifle, despite experience and knowledge.

It is just on this behavior of fish weather and other natural factors have a great influence.

The problem is that the situation with the calculation of such a day and time is quite difficult. And the problem is not only that the accuracy of the weather forecast leaves much to be desired. The main problem is the ambiguity of opinions about this or that weather factor in the majority.

On the other hand, everything is not completely bad, there are weather factors, in different seasons, relative to which you can predict the catch with a high degree of probability.

The influence of nature on the catch of fish all year round

Each time of the year is characterized by different weather manifestations and, accordingly, fish react differently to natural factors. For some, this information will be a truism, but for some – food for thought.

To try to understand the dependence of fish behavior on weather factors, let’s briefly consider each season separately.

Summer

Image 2 : Is it true that weather and fish behavior are linked?

The most popular time of the year for fishing. The water is no longer as cold as in the spring months, and it is getting warmer every day along with the air temperature. This is the key factor in more fish finishing spawning and moving into active munching. On shallow watering holes and rolls the water warms up first of all, thanks to which young fish tend to come here, attracting predators as well.

Non-predatory fish begin to linger more and more in the coastal zone, pleasing those who like to fish on float and bottom tackle with nibbles. The warmer the water, the more the reservoirs come to life.

But everything is good in moderation. Especially in hot days, when the air temperature is well above average, the bite most often stops, the fish gets into a “comatose” state and catch it becomes a big problem despite all the tricks. During the whole summer the situation changes little, only in August, when the water slowly begins to cool down, it becomes more and more difficult to catch predators in shallow water, so jig fishing becomes more relevant.

Autumn

Trees part with their crowns, vegetation on the banks is becoming rarer, the water cools down more and more along with the air temperature. Thanks to this once overgrown reservoirs are freed from underwater and surface vegetation becoming available for fishing.

Slowly decreases the activity of some species, others, such as zherech, begin to gather in packs, which is much easier to catch. At this time is the best fishing for pilkers.

The best time to catch is not necessarily in the morning, as often happens in the summer, moreover, the lower the temperature, the more often you can expect in the morning no nibble. Fish start to feed throughout the day.

Most of the fish are moving away from the shore, preferring deep holes and channel dumps. Due to the drop in water temperature, fish try to move less, but actively feed. Therefore, the fall is considered a time of trophy spinning fishing, when from the depths often get up trophy pike or pikeperch.

When the weather begins to approach the ice, activate cold-loving fish, such as burbot, which sleeps in the burrows all the time until the water does not cool to 15-12 degrees Celsius.

Immediately prior to the ice break, the activity of most fish tends to zero, the reservoirs seem to freeze. But it lasts until frost hits and water bodies begin to be covered with thin ice, on which fishermen with winter boxes and drills are already running.

First ice is considered to be the most successful and productive time for winter fishing. The fish is transitioning to winter feeding mode, but the water is still sufficiently saturated with oxygen, which allows it to be hyperactive and peck at any tackle. But in recent years there is a tendency, when frost hits, a crust of ice is formed, it disappears the next day with warming, and as a result, the hyperactivity of fish passes without the participation of the fisherman, and when the ice rises in a good way, from the first ice nibble does not remain and trace.

With the course of the winter period, the fish catch systematically fades, passing into an almost complete absence of it. Such a period is called deaf winter. The content of oxygen in the water decreases, and to get in this period on a good bite is a rarity. Such cases most often occur on rivers and reservoirs, where the ice rises later than on lakes and backwaters, there is a current of varying strength and a large water area is additionally supplied with oxygen due to a large number of springs and springs.

When it comes to spring, the fish slowly become more active. Catch gains some stability.

Spring

There is still ice on the reservoirs, but the sun is starting to warm up, the nibble is getting better and the ice is getting more dangerous. Many fishermen spend time at the holes waiting for the last ice.

When the ice begins to thaw and sizzle in the sun due to rising temperatures and a warmer sun, turning into a crumbly mess, but the density still allows fishing, you can expect hyperactivity of different kinds of fish. Ironically, the worse the ice, the better the nibble. Successful fishing on the last ice is a legend. It is connected, first of all, with preparation for the transition of fish to the summer mode of feeding, and secondly, the water gradually warms up, better saturated with oxygen and the fish begins to feel more active, awakening the appetite. Also, thanks to the increase in temperature, fish prepare for future spawning, accumulating energy.

As well as before the ice break, after the ice melting you can often observe a short-term pause, which quickly ends with the beginning of successful open water fishing.

In many regions at this time begins to operate spawning ban and it is time to distract from winter, for example, float fishing.

The closer summer comes, the more often you can find fish in shallow parts of the river and near the banks. More and more often morning fishing brings better results.

Probability of miscalculating the influence of natural factors

Image 7 : Is it true that weather and fish behavior are linked?

There are so many weather factors that affect fish behavior in one way or another. The ones listed here are kind of fundamental, but even they don’t always work out that way.

Try to take these factors into account, but do not take them as a basis. It happens that according to all indicators fish should not bite, but it bites on this day, as if for the whole year is full, but this is more like exceptions.

Go fishing, try, experiment and then the number of lucky will constantly grow.
