1. Feeder rods and reels.

2. Consumables: feeders, leashes, montages bait and additives in the bait.

3. Bucket, sieve, stands for rods, net , cage.

4. A stool or a box.

You can spend a lot of time on the shore preparing your gear and setting up your workplace. You take the rods out of their cases, assemble them, attach the reel, thread the fishing line through the rings, knit and install the equipment, knead the bait. At the same time, the time allotted for fishing is running, but the fishing has not yet begun. In feeder fishing, as in any business, it is important to save time by doing all the preparatory work in advance. After all, the more time your rigging with bait is in the water, the better chance you have of catching fish!

Preparing the rods

You can think of it as school homework. What do you need to do at home? At the very least you can (and should) assemble, rig and prepare your fishing rods. It’s simple. We know the place of tomorrow’s fishing. We know the information about the strength of the current, the depth, the distance of fishing. This is the initial information for rod preparation. On a strong current we collect a heavy rod with a powerful reel and tip. Going to the pond to catch crucian carp? In such a case we collect a lighter and shorter rod. If there is a possibility to collect other rods – spare or duplicate – you should collect them too.

Preparing the rigging

Immediately after assembling the rod and mounting the reel, you can attach the jig to the working line. What kind of rigging will be, sport or fixed, with a branch or without, without difference, the principle works the same. You can save time and on the manufacture of equipment, as different versions of loops are now ready. You just need to take them out of the package and mount them on the main fishing line. Here are examples, everything is very fast and convenient:

Equipped and assembled in this way, the fishing rod must be prepared for transportation: undo the knees, fold them neatly together and fix them with clerical rubber bands or special fishing ties. On the spot to prepare the tackle will have to spend no more than three minutes. Choose the right feeder, fasten it to the rigging and go ahead, you can cast!

Bait

Bait is also desirable to prepare at home in the evening before leaving, especially if the purpose of fishing – bream. Sifted, moistened quietly in two or three approaches. Water should be added a little more than usual. Moistened in the evening, the bait will swell evenly, all its particles will be completely saturated with water and aromatic substances. On the spot to prepare the bait will have to spend no more than five minutes: moisten it additionally if necessary, sift and introduce a coarse fraction. If you mix the bait on the reservoir, you will have to give it time from 15 to 30 minutes to swell and acquire the necessary working properties.

Home preparation of bait is also of great importance when fishing in low temperatures. In winter, early spring or late fall, you do not really want to freeze your hands when mixing bait on the reservoir. In these conditions, a good option is to use ready-made (moistened) baiting mixtures. The principle of their use is very simple. You need to open a bag with bait, pour it into a suitable container and with the help of a fishing sieve to break the formed clumps. All, the bait is ready to work. If necessary, the mixture can be tinted with paint or additionally moistened. Hands do not get cold, everything is done quickly.

Coarse fraction in the bait

An obligatory condition for catching large fish is the addition of a coarse fraction in the bait. In this role is successfully millet, peas, pearl millet, various grain mixes. You can cook them in the evening, cool them down, twist them in a meat grinder, you can brew grain mixes in a thermos before going fishing and again spend time to cool them down, and you can use a ready-made product. You just need to open the can and pour the desired amount of mixture into a bucket with bait or other containers. It turns out convenient and practical. If you want – use it in bait, and if you want – feed it in the feeder with plugs.

Leashes

I think many agree that leashes for fishing should be a lot. Different in diameter fishing line, different in shape and size hooks. What is it for? In order to quickly find the combination of line and hook that gives the highest hooking rate after a bite and the lowest number of hookups after a bite. Found a working combination? Great, but the stock of such working leashes should also be in case of breakage, cut from the shell, tangling equipment. Sometimes it is easier to break the leash and tie a new one than to untangle the knots. The time goes on, and the hook with the bait is not in the water. Dulled hook is also better to change to a new and sharp.

Leashes can be knitted in the evenings, in other free time. You can do it directly on fishing. But is it worth spending the time allotted for fishing? From ready-made leashes there is no sense to refuse. Even just to have them with you as a strategic stockpile is the right thing to do. Ready-made leashes can also be selected according to your fishing conditions, according to the target fish, because the diameter of the line, the shape and size of the hook there are used different.

What are other important advantages of ready-made leashes? They take up much less space! Wooden or plastic feeder leashes are long and bulky. In feeder fishing, as a rule, the minimum length of a fishing line is 50 cm and leashes are knitted and stored in multiples of this length. The package with ready-made leashes has a small size, it is compact and can be freely placed in any place, even in a jacket pocket, during storage or transportation. Three – four packs, and your soul can be calm. Whatever happens – you are ready for anything!

The results of home preparation can be observed already on the next fishing trip. Your neighbors are still preparing for fishing, and you already start to feed the selected point and attract fish to this point. You are faster than your neighbors begin to catch and get nibbles, react faster to changing fishing conditions, ready for different reactions of fish and can quickly adjust, lengthen or shorten the leash, change the shape of the hook. And when after fishing take out of the water cage you realize that saving time for preparation gives you a big plus to the weight of the catch.
