Despite the ambiguous start of the season due to the floods that came almost a month late, I consider the summer period as a whole to be very successful for me. This was largely due to the unusually high water level and relatively normal weather without sudden jumps and other natural disasters. Naturally, because of the changed conditions, not all last year’s favorites continued to work as steadily, gradually they were replaced by new fighters. Some of them “shot” episodically, and some on the contrary – worked steadily all summer. And it is about the latter in this article I will try to tell in detail …
Zipbaits Orbit 65 Slider
I use it most often at dusk
The smallest representative of the Orbit family. It appeared at me last year and started its way in principle quite briskly, but in full measure to show itself so did not have time, because the rolls very quickly overgrown and had to switch to catching only surface baits. I use this wobbler mostly at dusk, when hunting on the perekaty for zander or zherekh. Its depth is quite small (on average a little more than half a meter), so it perfectly “passes” even on the shallowest parts of the roll, and due to the built-in magnetic system still to the same and flies perfectly. Despite the seemingly at first glance inexpressive game, on the contrary, has some magical ability to find fish even at the moment when it seems that it is not at all on the point. It is due to this property and the ability to “hold” any current I consider it the best scout for finding fish and determining in what part of the roll today prefers to eat predator.
Zip Baits ZBL X-TRIGGER/ Zip Baits Rigge Raphael 45S
Suitable for flatwater at a fast to medium pace
Just a killer pair of stickbaits from the same manufacturer as the last hero. Worked great throughout the summer, complementing each other perfectly. The principle of their use was quite simple – if it is enough to throw Rafik and do not need a lot of speed, then put it, but if the stud feeds on the stream itself behind the roll or in the storm, then it is a job for X-Trigger.
I animate them mainly in two ways:
- “walker” wiring with fairly frequent and short jerks, during which our stickbait “draws” the classic herringbone, but already under the surface of the water.
Do not forget about the friction setting
To avoid overlaps when fishing with these lures is better to use a rigid leash, which at the same time and from the pike will save, if suddenly this person is interested in our bait. Also do not forget about the friction setting, as most of all the bites “in the opposite direction” falls on these stickbaits, and if it will be clamped, then everything can end very sadly.
Duo Tetra Works Toto Fat 35 S
The “white predators” react well to the bait
This little guy began his triumphal march last fall and now unequivocally confirmed that I liked it for a reason. Despite the small weight, Totoshka flies very well, and it does not prevent him in this even the lack of SDZ (long-range throwing system). I would also like to note the fact that although Toto Fat and has negative buoyancy, it is realistic to hold it in centimeters twenty from the surface. Actually, that’s why I most often use it in the summer, when there is a need to hold the bait over the grass. In addition to the “standard” for him perch and chub quite well this season to it reacted and small anglers. With the current it “makes friends” no worse than the famous Zipbaits Rigge 35S and, according to me, next season will definitely make a killer pair with it for catching spring chub. In general, a lure from the series of must have for any fan to hunt for “white predator”.
TsuYoki Rival SR 43SP
Suitable for catching standard points for chub and grouper
I counted on this wobbler literally from the first seconds of its appearance in the line of TM TsuYoki. The reason for this lies in the fact that its “progenitor” Zipbaits Rigge 43SP showed itself perfectly last season, and I wanted to buy its more budget analog for fishing by rafting in coastal snags. With wiring in this case, you can not get wise – the usual “even” works, but when fishing from the shore on the rolls, as it seemed to me, a little better works wiring “loop”. Although it was in June, while the water level was high, quite well worked and even wiring upstream.
Flight characteristics due to the weight and long throwing system of Rival SR 43 are very impressive and, probably, it is the most long-range lure of this type and size in my arsenal – of course, except for sinking minnows. With the current he is also all right – he is not carried up even on a fairly strong stream. Deepens on average a little less than half a meter and is suitable for catching almost all standard points when catching chub or jherekh. In addition to “white” very much like this bait and striped robber, and sometimes comes to the fact that he manages to overtake the chub and attacks Rival SR 43 literally as if for the last time. A couple of times tried to use it and at dusk, but so far, except for a couple of small pikeperch nothing worthy on it and did not catch.
Palms Vibrossi 40
Jig wiring hypnotically acts on perch
Wobbler (or rather rattlin) Palms Vibrossi 40 became for me the real discovery of this season. But to be quite honest, on the first fishing trip it did not impress me at all, because its flight characteristics are average, and I was sure that it would be carried upwards on the stream. But, as it turned out, I was very wrong, and although this bait perfectly catches our bass, first of all it was created for catching in mountain rivers, deci it “holds” în general any speed of the current and wiring itself.
On animation everything is standard – the classic jig step with rebounds or “even” at the bottom. The first option simply hypnotic effect on the perch and striped greedily trying to tear it up, and the second method began to regularly bring pike bites. So the leash and Vibrossi 40 are synonyms and there is no escape from it, especially since in addition to protection it significantly reduces the number of overlaps with tees for the main cord. The only negative for me is the fact that sheresper ignores it completely, but I hope that this is a temporary phenomenon and they will definitely make friends…

Last summer, I tried some of those top lures, and wow, they really worked! The bass were biting like crazy. I remember one day catching a huge one using a jerkbait. Can’t wait to use them again this season! Summer fishing is the best vibe!
