But if you are going to carp for the first time, you are right to open the article. Here I will try to share my experience of entering this direction of fishing.

Let’s start with the rod

The feeder rod is singled out in a separate segment for a reason. It has a large test weight, as well as quite sensitive, flexible and very durable. For the first outings, I would recommend using folding telescopic spinning rods, so here are a couple of acceptable samples up to 3 t.r. – Maximus Agent 360H or Nautilus Stout Feeder 240. Cord

You need a lot ofcord. And better. Saving on cord and hooks is the last thing to do. Since most often thrown far from the shore, you need at least 150 meters of cord. And no one has canceled the breaks and snags, which also leads to the loss of meters of cord. Quality cord can not cost much less than 1 t.r. for 100-150 meters. Cord is a high-tech part, hence the price. The thinner but stronger the cord, the more expensive it will be. I do not recommend taking thick cords for the purpose of reinsurance on the safety margin. More fun and experience is obtained when everything is balanced in the tackle. When not only the strength reserve of the set, but also your intelligence and attention help you to achieve results.

Hooks

Personally, I am a fan of Owner hooks. Their carp line is great. But it’s not a panacea. Choose according to your heart. Make a comparison on fishing, draw conclusions.

Feeder

Without it, feeder fishing is not feeder fishing. Depending on the depth and strength of the current on your reservoir, you need to choose a feeder. In addition, its choice is influenced by the size of granules in the bait mixture. The weight of the feeder should not exceed the allowable test of the rod.

Tackle indicator and rod stand

Why am I in favor of a rod stand? Convenient, functional, aesthetic, ergonomic. The cord will not snag, the bayonet enters any ground, takes up little space, costs pennies, is set at a convenient level in height and, if luck, the carp dragged the rod (well, you forgot about the bytranner), the reel will rest against the fork. And yes, I mean the usual stand, which consists of a bayonet and fork. Why am I “in favor” of a nodding signaler or bell? Carp fishing involves long periods of waiting. During this time you can do camping, cooking or just relax on the shore. Constantly looking at the tip is not very convenient. You can also put an electronic one, but we are talking about the first exit. And personally, I do not like this beeping from electronic ones, because they break the harmony of the music of nature. And we are on vacation.

In my opinion – one of the most important things in the arsenal of the fisherman. To calmly take the fish out of the water, to bring it to the shore without injuries and rough grabs, to release it carefully from the hook, to save the tackle from sharp jerks, if the fish starts to tear through the shallow water – that’s what you need a net for. Bait and Baiting

Now there are so many baits and all kinds of baits for fishing on a feeder, that there is nothing to advise. I always take on fishing for carp corn, peas, floating bait – boyle or poof, as well as sinking boyle. And I choose the bait on the spot. I always have a lot of this stuff. And I advise everyone. I have always been satisfied with Dunaev baits. And quality, and the price does not bite.

In this list you can add, except for a drill for baits, some carabiners or swivels, five beads, a bucket for mixing, but this is already a personal preference.

Comrade, remember that it is possible, but not always necessary and useful, to get fittings and a lot of devices. Do not strive to make an external impression on the first fishing trips expensive rod-pod, cubic meter of bait or basin of baits. Conquer everyone with your catch.
